Dock Floor Lamp
The old Belfast Dock saw the launch of legendary ships and stories. Using salvaged wood from this historic old dock we created a collection inspired by the beautiful green of oxidised copper and the bulb-protecting work lights of dockers. These handsome practical lamps work beautifully in contemporary homes.
The hero of this table lamp is the base of salvaged timber lovingly handcrafted from the historic old Belfast Dock (home of the Titanic). This timber is more than 300 years old and has the marks of its long history including holes where giant nails once sat. Due to the damp conditions it lived in, it takes many years for this timber to dry out and only some of it can be salvaged making this a rare historical timber. Each lamp is made to order.
The timber is accented by a beautiful oxidised copper pipe which varies from teal to greenish hues depending on the natural oxidisation process of the copper. The lamp is finished with a stunning retro style LED bulb with a delicate filament and a fabric twisted cord with a black on/off floor switch.
Your lamp will come with a handwritten label describing its particular provenance and the Copperfish stamp of authenticity.
Due to the natural materials and handmade nature of these lamps, each is unique and the colour, grain and finish of the wood will vary from lamp to lamp. All our lamps are made by hand in our studio in Rathnew, Co. Wicklow using time honoured skills and the finest materials.
All our bulbs are long-life LED and have an expected lifespan of 30,000 hours/10 years approx. Replacement bulbs can be ordered from us or you will find similar bulbs in retail stores.
