The Anglesea
The Anglesea table lamp is handcrafted from original timber reclaimed from the Anglesea Stand at the Royal Dublin Society in Dublin, a place steeped in Irish cultural and sporting heritage.
Founded in 1731, the Royal Dublin Socity (RDS) has been home to the Dublin Horse Show since 1864 and, more recently, the home ground of Leinster Rugby.
The solid timber base is left largely untouched, retaining its natural grain, markings, and patina earned through decades of use. You'll notice variations in the grain as well as nails and other remants from its time as a bream holding up the roof of the Anglesea stand.
A simple metal fitting supports an oversized amber tinted bulb, allowing the warm filament to become part of the design rather than something hidden.
The form is low, balanced, and intentional, with weight and presence drawn from the material itself.
Understated and honest, the Anglesea table lamp is defined by proportion, texture, and restraint. Each piece is unique, shaped by its history and finished by hand.
Due to the natural materials and handmade nature of these lamps, each is unique and the colour, grain and finish of the wood will vary from lamp to lamp.
All our lamps are made by hand in our studio in Rathnew, Co. Wicklow using time honoured skills and the finest materials.
All our bulbs are long-life LED and have an expected lifespan of 30,000 hours/10 years approx. Replacement bulbs can be ordered from us or you will find similar bulbs in retail stores.
