Dromod Spalted Beech

The Dromod is our nod to where it all began in an old thatched cottage with a warm open hearth. Handmade from storm-fallen beech, the classic and simple design of the Dromod heroes the natural beauty in the wood. With vintage style fittings and a retro style LED bulb, the Dromod lamp is a timeless and beautiful addition to any home.
 
This particlular lamp is made from spalted beech from a storm fallen old beech tree from Co. Wicklow, Ireland that came down in 2012. The distinctive pattern is due to fungal attacks on the tree, and any black lines occur when two separate spores meet.
 
Your lamp will come with a handwritten label describing its particular provenance and the Copperfish stamp of authenticity.
 
Due to the natural materials and handmade nature of these lamps, each is unique and the colour, grain and finish of the wood will vary from lamp to lamp. All our lamps are made by hand in our studio in Rathnew, Co. Wicklow using time honoured skills and the finest materials.
 
All our bulbs are long-life LED and have an expected lifespan of 30,000 hours/10 years approx.  Replacement bulbs can be ordered from us or you will find similar bulbs in retail stores.
